New Hampshire Local Government Center’s Next Generation of Training Courses

Today’s local governments—including schools, counties and municipalities—face increasingly complex laws, regulations and policies plus human resource, leadership and job skill challenges. TRAINING OVERVIEW

In 2008, New Hampshire Local Government Center (LGC) began partnering with Municipal Resources, Inc. (MRI)—a regional consulting firm dedicated to providing support services to municipalities and schools—to offer the LGC Academy. It provides a hybrid combination of live instruction with e-learning tools as well as self-guided, online classes with 24/7 access. Each offering is designed to enhance your job performance so that you can bring greater value to your organization.

COURSEWORK STRUCTURE

The LGC Academy’s course offerings have been developed with support from LGC affiliate groups and New Hampshire organizations. Some combine in-classroom and online instruction while others are completely online—depending on the subject matter. When applicable, homework assignments will require participants’ time commitment for online completion. Supplemental reading in required textbooks may also apply.

Courses cover important functional areas of local government like accounting, internal controls, financial reporting and accountability, stress management, the Right to Know Law and much more. WHO SHOULD ENROLL?

Any school or local government employee of an LGC member group who is interested in furthering their education to gain valuable, work-related skills in a user-friendly learning environment is encouraged to enroll in LGC Academy course offerings.

COST

Fees for LGC Academy courses vary depending on required textbooks and other materials. Some online courses require no fees. To view costs associated with a particular course, please download the course syllabus after clicking on "Course Offerings" and selecting the class of choice.

HOW TO REGISTER

Our online registration process is quick and easy. To get started, you will need to set up an online account on the Sign Up page. Once your secure information is received and verified, you will be sent an e-mail confirmation with all the information needed to sign up for available courses. Then just Log In to register for your class of choice.
